Furnace Replacement in New Albany, IN & the Louisville Metro

Is it time for a new furnace? We size it right, install it right, and back it up. Free estimates and financing available. Call (812) 944-6019.

Repair It, or Replace It?

It is the question every homeowner asks when the heat goes out on an aging system, and the honest answer depends on the furnace in front of us. A ten year old unit with a bad ignitor is worth repairing. A twenty year old unit with a cracked heat exchanger is not.

We will tell you which one you have. If a repair makes more sense, we will say so. If replacement is the better call, we will show you why and give you a firm price before anything is ordered. We have been making that call honestly in New Albany since 1978.

Furnace Replacement

The Systems We Replace

Whatever is heating your home now, we can replace it with something better matched to the house.

Gas Furnace Replacement

The most common replacement we do. We handle removal of the old unit, venting, gas connections, and full installation of a properly sized high efficiency gas furnace.

Electric Furnace Replacement

For all electric homes, we replace electric furnaces and air handlers, and we will tell you honestly if a heat pump pairing would serve the house better.

Furnace & AC Replaced Together

When both systems are near end of life, replacing them as a matched set costs less than two separate jobs and the equipment performs better paired than mismatched.

Signs It Is Time to Replace Your Furnace

One of these on its own may not mean much. Several together usually do.

The furnace is 15 to 20 years old or more

Heating bills keep climbing with no change in habits

Repairs are getting frequent, or the next one is expensive

Rooms heat unevenly or the furnace runs constantly

Banging, rattling, or booming on start up

A cracked heat exchanger or carbon monoxide concern

Not sure where your system stands? Call (812) 944-6019 and we will take a look and give you a straight answer.

How Furnace Replacement Works With Us

No pressure, no guesswork, no surprise invoice.

1. Free In-Home Estimate

We look at the house, not just the old furnace. Square footage, ductwork, insulation, and layout all affect what you actually need. Then you get a firm written price.

2. Properly Sized Equipment

An oversized furnace short cycles and wears out early. An undersized one never keeps up. We size the system to your home so it runs efficiently and lasts.

3. Clean Install and Full Testing

We remove the old unit, install the new one, test operation and safety, and walk you through the thermostat and filter before we leave.

NAH&AC is our go-to. They are quick to respond to voicemails, quick to show up on site, are always friendly and the prices are always fair. Today, Chris showed up 30 minutes after we called and was able to get my mom's AC (which is an ancient unit) up and running quickly. We were so grateful for the excellent and fast customer service.

NA Heating and Air has been our provider for years. They maintain our furnace and a/c, and on the rare occasion we have a problem, respond quickly. When it was time to replace the furnace, we chose them. Our previous unit had a 10 year warranty, at 16 years going into winter, we chose to be proactive, and had a new unit installed. We recommend them without reservation!

FAQs

Furnace Replacement FAQs

How much does furnace replacement cost?
It depends on the size of your home, the efficiency level you choose, and whether any venting or ductwork changes are needed, so we do not quote a flat number sight unseen. Estimates are free. Call (812) 944-6019 and we will look at the house and give you a firm written price before anything is ordered.
As a rule of thumb, if the furnace is under about twelve years old and the repair is modest, repair usually wins. If it is past fifteen to twenty years, repairs are becoming routine, or the heat exchanger is cracked, replacement is generally the better investment. We will tell you which situation you are in rather than defaulting to the bigger sale.
A straightforward replacement is typically completed in a single day. Jobs that involve venting changes, ductwork modifications, or replacing the furnace and air conditioner together can take longer. We will tell you what to expect when we give you the estimate.
If both systems are near the end of their service life, replacing them together usually costs less than two separate projects and the matched equipment performs better than a mismatched pairing. If your air conditioner has years left, there is no reason to replace it early, and we will say so.
Yes, financing is available on new systems. Ask us about the current options when we provide your estimate.
Size is based on the home, not the old unit. Square footage, ceiling height, insulation, windows, ductwork, and layout all factor in. We calculate the load rather than simply matching whatever was installed before, because an oversized furnace short cycles and wears out early.
It depends on how long you plan to stay in the home and how much you currently spend on heating. Higher efficiency equipment costs more up front and returns it through lower bills over time. We will walk you through the trade off honestly for your situation rather than pushing the top of the line.
Yes. Much of our work is in older New Albany and Louisville area homes where duct layouts, venting, and space constraints require more thought than a new build. That is normal work for us, not an obstacle.
