Almost every emergency call we run in July is a problem that was visible in April. A weak capacitor, a low charge, a coil packed with dust, a drain line halfway to blocked. None of those fail politely. They wait for the hottest day of the year.
An AC tune-up is one seasonal visit to catch those things while they are still cheap. Our maintenance agreement is the same work on a schedule, twice a year, so nobody has to remember to book it.
We have been doing this out of New Albany since 1978, across Kentuckiana. If your system is fine, we will tell you it is fine.
An air conditioner in Kentuckiana works harder than the same unit would somewhere dry. Sitting in the Ohio River basin means your system is pulling humidity out of the air all summer, not just heat, and that runs it longer and wetter than the spec sheet assumes.
Two things follow from that, and both are on our spring checklist. Condensate drains here clog more often, because they are moving more water. And evaporator coils foul faster, which quietly costs you cooling before it ever costs you a breakdown.
In New Albany’s older housing stock it compounds. Retrofitted ductwork, undersized returns, and equipment tucked into a basement corner all make a system work harder to begin with. Those are the systems where a spring visit pays for itself.

We check the system has an adequate refrigerant charge and read the operating pressures. Low charge means a leak, not consumption, so if the numbers are off we go looking for the cause rather than just topping it up.

We measure the operating temperature drop across the evaporator coil. That single reading tells us whether the system is actually moving heat the way it should, and it is the first thing to slip when a coil is fouling.

We clean the condensate drain. In this climate your system pulls a lot of water out of the air, and a blocked drain is the most common cause of the "my AC is leaking" call we get in midsummer.

We inspect, adjust, and clean the blower assembly as needed, adjust belts, and lubricate the parts that need it. Airflow problems masquerade as cooling problems more often than people expect.

We check all safety and protective devices and adjust the thermostat as necessary. Then we tell you what we found, including the things that are fine.
A one-off tune-up is fine. The agreement is for people who would rather not think about it again.
$148 per year covers two visits: a spring check on the air conditioning and a winter check on the furnace. We call you to book them, so nothing gets missed in a busy month.
Worth knowing: the winter visit includes checking the heat exchanger for cracks and testing for gas leaks. That is a safety check, not a comfort one, and it is the part of the agreement we would not want anyone skipping.
Call (812) 944-6019 to sign up, or ask your technician on the next visit.
A tune-up is the easiest visit in this trade to turn into a sales call. We would rather you kept the system you have running for another five years and called us when it finally goes.

We install Goodman and Amana systems, so those are the ones we know best. Our technicians maintain every major brand, whether we put it in or not.
If you are not sure what you have, call us. After 48 years, we have very rarely met a system we could not work on.

NAH&AC is our go-to. They are quick to respond to voicemails, quick to show up on site, are always friendly and the prices are always fair. Today, Chris showed up 30 minutes after we called and was able to get my mom's AC (which is an ancient unit) up and running quickly. We were so grateful for the excellent and fast customer service.Posted on Google james stillwellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. NA Heating and Air has been our provider for years. They maintain our furnace and a/c, and on the rare occasion we have a problem, respond quickly. When it was time to replace the furnace, we chose them. Our previous unit had a 10 year warranty, at 16 years going into winter, we chose to be proactive, and had a new unit installed. We recommend them without reservation!
