Our shop is at 414 East Main Street, on the same street as the Mansion Row historic district. We have spent decades putting heating and cooling into houses that were never built to accept it.

When a furnace and air conditioner are both near the end of their service life, replacing them as one project is usually the better decision. Here is how we approach it.

Furnace & Air Conditioner Replaced Together

The most common full system replacement we do. Matched equipment runs more efficiently than a mismatched pairing, you only pay for one installation visit, and both systems come with warranty coverage starting the same day.

Replacing One System Now, One Later

If only one half of the system is failing and the other has real life left, we will say so. We can replace the failing unit now and size it so the second half pairs correctly when its time comes.

Switching to a Different System Type

A full replacement is the natural moment to reconsider the system itself. A ductless mini-split may suit a problem area better, and in some homes a heat pump handles both heating and cooling from one system.

Repair It, or Replace the System?

Replacing a whole HVAC system is a large decision, and it is not always the right one. A system in its first decade with a single failed component is usually worth repairing. A system past fifteen years with climbing bills and a second expensive repair in two seasons usually is not.

We will tell you which one you have before we quote anything. If a repair is the smarter spend, we will fix it and say so. If one half of the system is the problem, we will point you to furnace replacement or AC replacement rather than selling you a full system you do not need.

They maintain our furnace and a/c, and on the rare occasion we have a problem, respond quickly. When it was time to replace the furnace, we chose them. Should I replace the whole system, or just the furnace or air conditioner?
